What is the difference from your beads, and less expensive beads?Sure...you can find beads at 5pcs for .99. But the difference with our beads, is the quality of the glass, the skill it takes to produce the level of detail, and the core metal.1) Single Vs Double Core - you absolutely want single core as the glass is actually adhered completely to a metal core. The other option double core, which means there is a bead cap on either end. These are flimsy, and common with .20 beads. No core, I do not have experience with, but my opinion is they don't look as nice.2) Sterling Silver Core - Vs. Plated Core. - Honestly I don't think that this makes a world of difference. Silver plated, depending on what the underlying material is, can be just as pleasing, and long lasting as .925 sterling. For those that are allergic to other metals, the core in a plated core doesn't touch your skin, so it should be find (always check with a doctor). However, sterling silver cores are more expensive and I think that cosmetically speaking, it makes a slight difference.3) Swarovski vs. no frills crystal - I think there is a huge differnce, no frills crystal has less faceted or angles on there crystals, where Swarovski has more cuts, thus, making greater refractions of like and more "bling" factor. However, density of the crystals is very important as well. Ours are 90+ which is very very good. There is a small premium for Swarovski beads.4) Sterling silver beads vs antique, vs plated - Again, plated is not a bad option if the underlying metal is copper or brass, or something that is nickel free. It doesn't quite have the unique dull finish of silver, and tends to be much shinier. Definatley sterling is recommended for people you have allegies. Antique silver, is actually quite popular, but to be honest, it is a hodgepodge of metal mixed with silver (rather than plated that has a coat of sterling OVER the metal. Antique is great if you are looking for a victorian look.
